Guardians of the Future
The program for members who want to help take care of Asperastra.
Those who become Curators are given tools and a role within the community. In return, they take care of the Lab, welcome first-time visitors, and share their knowledge.
It's perfectly fine to remain a member without becoming a Guardian: Guardian membership is for those who want to take it a step further.
What We Offer

Your everyday tool for projects, studies, and activities in Asperastra.
20 Asperastra credits per month
"Astra Tokens": You can use them for courses, lab equipment, and your projects.
Canva and Affinity Pro
One of the most widely used graphics and presentation suites.
Compensation for teaching hours
20 credits for each hour of class taught.
This is the starting point: the benefits package will grow along with the program.
What are you doing?
Minimum commitment: at least 4 hours per month at the Lab during opening hours—no set schedule, but the freedom to choose your own hours, with the commitment to be there.

Support and Reception
You’re on duty during the Lab’s public hours, welcoming new members and visitors, and explaining what goes on at Asperastra and how it works.

Space Maintenance
At the end of your shift, the lab is neater than when you arrived: workstations, tools, and common areas are all ready for the next person.

Material Inspection
Check the inventory of consumables (filament, wood, acrylic, electronic components, etc.) and let us know in advance when supplies are running low.

Extended Hours
You can cover shifts outside standard hours (e.g., on Saturdays)—always in pairs with another custodian: never alone.

Skills Help Desk
If you know anything about Arduino, electronics, 3D printing, laser cutting, CNC, graphic design, or AI, please set aside a specific time—one day and one time slot per week—when you’re available to help other members with that topic.

Annual contribution
At least one contribution to the community each year: a story shared, a mini-workshop, an event supported, a project collaborated on. Whatever you want—as long as you do it.
Over time, a Curator may also propose full-fledged courses and workshops—such as the HelloWorld series—with the Lab’s support in promoting and managing the event: this is already how some of the courses on the calendar come about, taught by members rather than internal staff. Each hour of teaching is worth 20 credits.
Never alone.
During off-hours openings (e.g., on Saturdays, when the team isn't in the office), you are always paired with another Custodian. Until we get to know each other well, this rule protects both you and the Lab.
How to Become a Guardian

Candidates
Submit your application by emailing mail@asperastra.org, or speak with the team directly the next time the Lab is open.

A casual chat
20–30 minutes with a team member: Tell us what you want to do and how you see yourself getting involved.

Activation
Email, Claude Pro, monthly credits, and graphic design licenses are activated in just a few moments.
4
Public Presentation
We'll introduce you to the community at an Asperastra event.
