HelloWorld – Arduino – Second Session

A flashing LED is the first program you write on an Arduino, and it may not seem like much. But then you realize that this flashing is based on the same principle behind a traffic light, a warning sensor, or a rotating radar: from that point on, the code changes, but the idea remains the same.
HelloWorld: Arduino is a series of four sessions designed for absolute beginners. No programming experience is required, and you don’t need to bring anything—the Lab provides the boards, components, and breadboards. Each session alternates between instruction and hands-on work, and ends with something that works.

Cos’è Arduino, a cosa serve, cosa ci si può fare. L’ambiente di sviluppo e la struttura di un programma, poi subito il primo risultato: il LED integrato sulla scheda che lampeggia. Da lì si passa al PWM – la tecnica con cui una luce si accende a metà invece che tutta – e al primo LED montato fuori, su breadboard, con i suoi collegamenti.

Ingressi e uscite: non solo accendere, ma reagire. Bottoni, LED e le condizioni che legano gli uni agli altri – if, else, and, or. Il progetto della serata è un semaforo che alterna rosso, giallo e verde: la prima, semplicissima macchina a stati.

Far parlare Arduino con il computer. Stampa seriale, lettura dei dati e grafico in tempo reale. Colleghiamo un sensore – di luce o di temperatura -, facciamo il conto che trasforma il segnale in un numero con un senso, e guardiamo il dato muoversi sullo schermo mentre sul banco succede qualcosa.

Un progetto più articolato che mette insieme tutto: un radar a ultrasuoni, fermo o montato su un servo che lo fa ruotare – si decide insieme. L’ultima parte dell’incontro non è codice: è dove guardare e cosa cercare per continuare da soli, perché il percorso non finisca con l’ultima serata.

The full series can be purchased on the first date. The four-show ticket is available on Tuesday, October 13, and is valid for all four evenings. Single-show tickets remain available for the other dates.
